Just like across the pond… It’s OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP week in the neighborhood at the HOME OF STREET GOLF Tour Fairways!
This Thursday not only will be hosting our regular weekly Urban Golf Meetup but we also be crowning a champion neighborhood golfer of the year at the first annual OPEN STREET CHAMPIONSHIP! The winner will receive a 24” x 18” painting by our very own Drew Reinland of Planet Goddamn Studio of the most famous trophy in the world, THE CLARET JUG. Whoever wins will have their name painted on afterwards during the awards ceremony and will be able to take it home with them for a year to share and celebrate with family and friends.
The format and the scoring of the tournament will be very similar to that of a “Skins Game”. Anyone who is entered in the tournament (You enter by showing up and telling us you wanna play haha) if you get the lowest score on a hole you out of anyone you get a point. So in theory there are nine points possible! The person with the most points at the end will be the CHAMPION NEIGHBORHOOD GOLFER of the year. In case of a tie.. We will go straight into a sudden death stroke play format!
It’s going to be a great way to kick off one of the best golf weeks of the year and we hope to see everyone out in the neighborhood! Even if you just wanna come kick it and just slap a few shots around that’s cool, it’s gonna be a vibe no matter what!
